Shadow Work Changes Lives…

Shadow work brings us into contact with the parts of ourselves many other approaches do not touch—the parts shaped by shame, fear, grief, rage, numbness, imbalanced power, and deep longing. These parts do not respond to logic. They do not dissolve through insight or reframing alone.

For integration to occur—and for lives to truly change—these parts require authentic presence, attuned relationship, skillful embodiment, and compassion.

Depth psychology recognizes that symptoms are not the problem; they are messages.
That resistance is not pathology; it is protection.
That the psyche organizes itself intelligently around survival, belonging, and love.

Without working directly with the unconscious and the nervous system, therapeutic work risks becoming performative. Clients may become articulate, emotionally aware, and intellectually fluent—yet unchanged at the core.

We see the consequences everywhere:

  • Chronic relational patterns that persist despite years of therapy

  • Burnout among practitioners trained to manage symptoms but not complexity

  • Clients who “know better” but cannot live differently

  • Helpers who feel under-resourced when depth, dissociation, or embodied trauma emerges

The modern world is not asking for more technique.
It is asking for capacity.

Capacity to sit with ambiguity.
Capacity to hold paradox.
Capacity to meet what is uncomfortable without rushing to fix it.
Capacity to work with what lives beneath the story.

The Shadow Coaching Institute was created to help practitioners build this capacity.

This professional training is designed for coaches, therapists, and healing practitioners seeking depth, integrity, and real-world application.

This training is light on theory and grounded in real-world application. You’ll learn how to work with the shadow in real client sessions—using clear frameworks, embodied techniques, and relational skill. The program emphasizes how to recognize and powerfully work with shadow dynamics as they arise, how to support integration safely and skillfully, and the coaching skills needed to work at depth.

You’ll receive both foundational and experiential education in depth psychology, core coaching competencies, and ethical, trauma-informed practice. You’ll receive one-on-one mentoring, expand your capacity by exploring your own shadow, and learn a wealth of experiential tools and frameworks—so you graduate able to work with clients confidently and effectively.

Foundations of Shadow Integration

Our training prepares practitioners to recognize and engage shadow material as it appears across developmental, relational, emotional, and symbolic domains. Through this framework, practitioners learn to work with origin stories and adaptations, trauma and protective patterns, relational and family dynamics, emotional intelligence, archetypal forces, and both the wounded and gifted aspects of the psyche. This integrated approach allows practitioners to meet complexity with clarity—supporting deep integration, resilience, and internal freedom.

Mentoring and Study/Support Groups

Mentoring and study/support groups are a core component of the program, offering structured guidance, community learning, and practical support. These spaces help bridge theory and practice while fostering accountability and confidence.

Our live classes use a video conferencing platform. During the program you’ll have monthly classes as well as small breakout room practices, discussions and instruction. These classes will be highly interactive and give you ample time to ask questions, practice techniques, and go deeper into your own healing and learning.

Virtual Classes

You will attend a virtual live retreat at the beginning and end of the program. The opening retreat is designed to orient and acclimate you to the structure, depth, and expectations of the training, while the closing retreat supports integration—helping you consolidate learning, embodiment, and insight as you complete the process.

Virtual Retreats

These will be used for hands-on practice as well as an opportunity to integrate the material in a more visceral way. This space will provide you the answers to your questions and give you deeper clarity of how impactful this work can be.

Coaching Labs

The online learning space houses all your curriculum—videos, audios, and documents. It’s also where you’ll find your interactive class discussion forums, where you can interact with instructors, and where you get to know other coaches.
